The Solomon Islands dollar is the official currency of the Solomon Islands, a Pacific archipelago located east of Papua New Guinea. Introduced in 2000, it replaced the Solomon Islands pound at a rate of 1 dollar = 100 cents and is issued by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands.

Denoted by the symbol $ or SI$ to distinguish it from other dollar currencies, the dollar is divided into 100 cents. The economy relies heavily on agriculture, fisheries, and tourism, and the currency is commonly used in both urban markets and remote island communities. A quirky note: due to the country's small size and limited banking infrastructure, cash transactions remain dominant, and many prices are still quoted in whole dollars.
