The Russian ruble is the official currency of the Russian Federation and is issued by the Central Bank of Russia. It is subdivided into 100 kopeks, although kopek coins are rarely used in everyday transactions due to inflation. Banknotes feature prominent historical figures such as Vladimir Lenin and cultural symbols, while coins display the Russian coat of arms.

First introduced in the 13th century, the modern ruble has undergone several redenominations, most notably after the 1998 financial crisis and the 2014 sanctions period. Today, the ruble is a key instrument in Russia's monetary policy and is widely used in domestic trade, energy exports, and as a reserve currency in some neighboring economies.
