The Paraguayan guaraní is the official currency of Paraguay, issued by the Banco Central del Paraguay. It is denoted by the symbol ₲ and is subdivided into 100 centimos, although centimo coins are no longer in circulation.

Introduced in 1944 to replace the Paraguayan peso, the guaraní has endured periods of high inflation, leading to the issuance of high‑denomination banknotes such as the 100,000‑guaraní note. The currency is named after the Guaraní people, an indigenous group that remains a significant cultural influence in the country. Paraguay is a bilingual nation, with both Spanish and Guaraní used in everyday transactions.
